Nemesis, Knowsaj, and I went up to the G2D4 tourney ran by Spagaurtyrine this weekend. Knowsaj fought against daemons in the final round for first place, losing in the final turn. The top four places were Daemons, Tyranids, Tyranids, and Tyranids. Both knowsaj and I ran similar lists with two flying hive tyrants, doom, 2 tervigons and mawlocs/trygons. The third tyranid player ran a more traditional list, with a walking hive tyrant, 6 hive guard, 3 tervigons and support.
I'm really happy to see tyranids doing so well locally. It is a good feeling now when I play them, since I have my entire army painted and starting to progress beyond table top standard. While tyranids have begun doing better, I'm still not sure if I'll be bringing them to the Indy Open. But for now, they are definitely my default tournament army.

It Burns!
By TheGraveMind
So I've really gotten back into my Tyranids lately, so I went back and started reading through all the ... "other" stuff in the codex. I will not honor it by calling it Fluff. I know now why I couldn't recall that much of it, I had purged it from my mind. Some of it just doesn't make sense, most of it is horrible.

tyranids vs chaos
Hi knowsaj here, this is my first battle report so im open to criticism. I was playing my tyranids and Nemesis his nurgle marines, also Nemesis took all the picture (all 73 of them I had to go through with most being blurry messes).

Tyranid List ideas
By TheGravemind
I've been going back and forth on some lists for my tyranids. I've been doing decent enough with them at the past few tournaments, but since Chaos got updated, I've been struggling a bit more. My one hive tyrant has been letting me down, so I've been thinking about taking two. If I do that though, I'd have to give up the ymgarl stealers, which have been doing very well for me. I'm not completely sold on mawlocs yet either. I'm trying to decide soon, so I can start painting this up for tournaments and the escalation league.
So here are some of my ideas. Right now looking at 1850, but possible 1750-2000 modifications.

And We're Back! (?)
By TheGravemind
Well, the blog has been dormant for about a year now. But I'm starting to get a good flow of 40k mojo back, and I've decided to open up the blog to some of the local guys as well. As you may notice to the side, we already have two additional authors. I hope to get some good battle reports and list ideas coming from them and myself.
So for those that follow, don't be surprised if you see a fresh new span of activity on this blog!
